#7 wasted no time in making an appearance! #5 has also pipped now, too. Getting exciting around here!

Yay! I have a pip now too, on end of day 19! It’s my “surprise” mystery egg that has been advanced all along. Hoping to see a fuzzbutt in the morning!

Four pips (#s 1, 4, 5, & 8) and one hatchling (#7) as of this morning. Yay! The humidity has jumped up to nearly 90% following the first hatch; I’m worried that the hatchling may not fluff up, so I’m keeping an eye on it.

So excited! Who needs tv when you can sit and watch this all day?

#8, who didn’t even pip until sometime between 2 and 4 am, is out already! He/she popped out of that egg like a jack-in-the-box. #7 is starting to preen and fluff up finally.

And another! This is #4, the one that pipped in the wrong end yesterday morning. It took a lot longer than the others, but he/she is here! Two more to go.

I think I am going to loose one It was shrink wrapped due to all the craziness and I was putting water on an exposed part of the membrane and the chick started to freak out and tore the membrane and there is a lot of blood. I feel so sad for it but it wasn't doing well to begin with.

OMG It made it! Woohoo!

Aren't mystery eggs fun! I had all mystery eggs this hatch too. I can't wait to see them feathered out! And congrats to everyone on their chicks!

No chicks yet but three pips. The first one is getting close to zipping. Pretty good sized crack going

This is not even the end of day 20 though. How are they ready so fast? I’m concerned. My first hatch last spring was exactly 21 days +/- 6 hours or so.

Crap...I just went out to take some pics of the chicks and the last 2 to hatch have died. I am not surprised given how hard this hatch was but it still makes me sad. So we are down to a final count of 5 strong healthy chicks. I think that those first 5 were the most developed when the power got shut off in the middle of the hatch so it didn't effect them as much. These last 2 were weak from the start. Still 5 out of 9 isn't bad. But I have learned a lot in this hatch and I can prevent a lot of things in my next one. Still it's hard to loose chicks.
