Those chicks are so cute!! I love the little golden brown one. Such an unusual color.

I just had a second chick hatch! This one is silver. It actually looks lavender. Very pretty, with feathered legs and a beard. I hope it dries quickly. The one in the brooder is lonely. No more external pips currently, although I did a quick candle, and all the other eggs have pipped internally.

Actually edit that. I do have another pip. This is the slowest hatch I've ever had!

Looks like 6 hatched so far and I got another lavender! Can't wait to get back home, pictures just doesn't do it for me.

Got 3 eggs pipped this morning. Their all the Rhode Island Reds. No Marans so far but should be soon. Conveniently, both my hatches this summer have been on the weekend. Think I'll start setting eggs from now on so that this happens and Im not at work.

I just had a 100% hatch rate 7/7!!!! No shipped eggs, just my own silkies and project orps. Had a hen go brrody on Monday, gave her eggs headed for lockdown on Tuesday and hatching started Friday! Took all babies away and placed more eggs scheduled for this Friday under her to take care of... In the meantime, a 2nd hen is broody so gave her some of the ones also scheduled for this weekend. Love the brrodies!!

1. i allso have 7 egs in my brinsea 1 polish 1 silkie 3 black orps and 2 pekin due to hatch auguest 4 8 more days wohoo just candeled them all seem to be developing nicely

I just got my 3rd lav orp, this is so exciting for me as my first hatch ever a lil over a month ago I had gotten all black splits. Also others will share pics when all the broodies hatch. 1 finally pipped in the bator also due for Monday.

Marans eggs are usually late. Day 25 is the norm for hatching those.

Guess I won't notice anything until tomorrow. I don't like to disturb my broodies too much. I'll be listening for them to be 'talking' to their unhatched chicks. Tomorrow will be day 20.

That's awesome misschickenlittle! I love broodies too! It's my first time with 3 broodies going to hatch out the same day. Woo hoo!
