July Hatch-a-long

Thank you Shellz and Brooster. Since the guys won their game lastnight we have to be back to play at 9am. I peeled some of the shell by the pip and give daughter instructions to not let it dry out too much so it doesn't shrink the poor thing in. This had a perfect aircell on the right end, just the chick decided it didn't want to do things the easy way.

Decided last night to throw the 3 bantams from first bator hatch in with Little Lady. She sit right up and scooted them under her. Well it went so easy I thought I'd try a few more, she said keep bringing me them. So now she has her 11 and the 12 others and is happy as can be. Will take a great load of stress off me and them. Maybe when the other broodies are done I can split them up more evenly. Have a great day all im off for more freezing my off.

I had one more chick hatch last night, bringing my grand total to 3 so far. I think they're having a hard time getting out of these pullet eggs. The shells seem to be pretty thick. I candled the 3 remaining eggs. I think 1 has died, but the other 2 are still chirping.

The three Olive Egger chicks are so cute. 2 look like Marans chicks with beards, one black and one blue. And here's the silver one. I can't wait to see how it feathers out! All 3 have feathered legs.

Off topic but my kitty Seymour passed away today at 5:13pm. He was turned 15 in Feb and I bottle raised him. Sad day!
my 21 y/o calico passed a way a few months ago

I didn't bottle raise her... she first lived across the street & was raised as a kitten by a tom cat, she must have been about 16 weeks when she saw us playing outside and came to our house, then adopted my family. I always look at it as cats choose us, we don't choose them! I bet you gave him the best life a cat could have <3

Oh that is sooo pretty!! Congrats, fingers crossed for the others!!!

Awesome hatches! Bator has 2 hatches and 5 pips. The '"breach" chick is out but seems a bit early as its still lying. Going to give it more time as seems where the cord is hasn't went in all the way and one the same way out of last hatch and after time it way good to go and still thriving.
