July Hatch-a-long

We did lock down on Saturday and the eggs are rocking but no peeps yet. This is the part I really dislike, see movement but can't see what is going on. I am in there checking at least once an hour and still rocking and nothing else. This is worse then waiting for my children to decide it is time to come out. You would think after six kids I could wait for eggs to hatch.

I hope so! my first cochin frizzles ... the others are active and internally pipped...I'm not giving up yet but inside looks different that the others...we can hardly wait to see these tiny ones!

Mutts I guess... Marans roo X buff orp hen and marans roo X RIR hen. The rooster was given to us and I think he might be half marans half something else.

We had THREE power outages last week - days 2, 3 and 4 for our eggs... How much trouble am I in? We hooked up the generator each time, but I'm afraid this yo-yo'ing is going to make a mess of our first hatching experience. :(
I think they will be fine.................

Mama gets off the nest....my broody will be off the eggs for an hour and a half sometimes................'
Also.it takes the eggs much longer to cool down than the inside of the incubator..............
Relax and have fun.............................

Ive got several Ameraucanas hatching, 2 zipping now, and I will have a khaki Campbell duck hatching later this week. Also I am very excited, I've got a bunch of Appleyard ducks hatching later this month!!

UGH!! my frizzles are hatching but even though they pipped internally I lost all but 2! these were shipped eggs and I believe these little chicks were unhealthy...they had all kinds of strange stuff going on in their shells...poor babies!
