Still have one chick but now 9 out of 10 eggs are pipping! YAY!!!!!!

They're call duckies! They should be hatching out July 4-5. I guess you could say that they'll be coming out with a bang. (I'm terrible, I know.)

That's so cool about the peafowl! There's a ranch behind my husband's office where they raise them, they make such beautiful sounds.

I tried last year, but none made it to hatch. Only one pipped, but then it gave up. We had an insane heat wave and I think it may have been too much for the poor things. ;; This year I made sure to get a top of the line forced air bator with an automatic turner so hopefully I've got a better shot! I probably didn't need to spend so much on an incubator, but I'm paranoid and didn't wanna take any chances.

I can't wait to see them either! All of the eggs are developing this time, I can't wait!

I am picking up 18 Serama eggs on Friday. I ordered 7 from E-bay and they show some signs of developing and then quit on me. I have 2 that may still hatch in the next couple of days. I am hoping that by driving 60 miles to the breeder and picking up the new eggs they will have a better hatch rate than thru the mail.

I have 8 White Jersey Giants now that are 6 weeks old. I can hardly wait for them to start laying....I have months to go yet. lol.

I candled my 7 eggs at day 7 and all seemed well. one of the BTW jap eggs seemed a bit iffy and was a rather pumice egg. they should hatch in about 10-11 days. my broody is VERY excited!

I climbed into the coop and pulled out my phone to try and candle or at least see movement....I say a little birdy foot in egg 6/11!!! boy was it a sight to see that little chick breathing after my struggle to candle it

I can't take this, I want my babies NOW!

The pressure's getting to me, I feel like I'm gonna crack worrying about the hatch, who's gonna make it, if there'll be complications, and just overall being impatient in getting my fluffy 'lings, hehe. Good thing I can't have kids, if I had to go through 9 months of feeling like this I'd go bonkers!

I candled last night at day 10 and ditched 17 eggs that were either clear or had blood rings. That leaves 55 in the incubators. There were a few questionable ones that I left in, but overall they look good. I'm still frustrated with my turner- it will only turn in one direction and then it gets stuck. I have to turn the eggs in the other incubator by hand, so it's not that big of a deal to have to mess with the turner, too, but I'm hoping to figure out the problem before incubating again.

Oh no - I'm sorry Melissa. :/ At least it's just the turner and not the fan or heating system! I'm an avid follower of a youtube channel called "50 Ducks in a Hot Tub" and his hatch has been disastrous, plagued by equipment failures and DIS ducklings. Makes me paranoid about my own 'lings!

Speaking of, I'm an idiot...I marked the wrong monday that I set them. I put them in the bator on the 16th, not the 9th. So they won't be 4th of July hatchlings. Guess I better unsubscribe to that thread, eh?

They will still hatch in July! It will be here before you know it!

I have 15 royal palm eggs in incubator should hatch on the 7th.

If hen stays with it and nothing happens to her have Narragansett hen that has went broody on 17 eggs. Should start hatching on 21st.

Hopefull this time. First hatch didn't go well.
