OH OH OH!! I am starting tomorrow!!!

Its now about 10 hours of day 21. Im hatching 8 silkies. We now have 7 external pips!!! And 1 internal! It looks like my home made incubator is the best

Oh 2 pipped wrong end. I expected that. I could see the eggyolks and embryos were not in the middle from the first time i candled them.

Well, its getting loud in the bator and i cant sleep - slept for 4 hours and woke up to check the babies

Awesome! Silkies are adorable! I put 2 silkie eggs under my broody but I think they are both clear. Happy your chicks are coming alongl! I candled my eggs today and found a peachick that is turned around so I am glad to know ahead of time. I have a homemade bator also.. love the diy!

tomorrow is day 20, my eggs are really dark so no candling, I am dying to know what is happening if anything. Should I see any pipping tomorrow?

Oh and they are being hatched by a broody hen.

Thank you for the comforting words. Finding this whole grown chick... you just want to go back in time 30 seconds to undo it! I guess sometimes you just can't see see veins or movement and that we are human and we make mistakes. It stings for a while, but I will definitely be more cautious in the future. Although I thought I was already being very cautious!

yep. that's why im just waiting till the last minute for every hatch now a days. but, I guess I can afford to loose a chick this hatch if I happen to.........which I DONT want. 7 eggs under a broody bantam is ALOT of eggs for that girl, but she insists. I love broodies!

Ok I just put them in the baton I know with the bad air cells the have a horrible chance of hatching

. Fingers crossed I get at least one miracle baby!
