Just candled 8 burbon red eggs I set on the 2nd had 1 quitter. The other 7 had good development and movement.

CHICKENS ARE AMAZING CREATURES (and addictive). Came home tonight and found a chanteclar chick had hatched. Tomorrow we were going to call it quits on the 3 remaining eggs. Tomorrow morning this chick can join the 11 mixed chicks in the brooder.

One more day...My broody hen has got fourteen eggs due tomorrow! I cant wait! I hope she has a good hatch...it is her first tome!

Took the quads out today, and came home to a just hatched silkie chick, now I'm tapping my foot waiting for the ones in the bigger eggs, today is day 20

So my broody just finally came off her nest this morning, day 23.she has 3 chicks out of 6 eggs! 2 didn't hatch (I still have to candle to see if they were fertile) and one hatched but died after hatching for some reason. Im really upset, does that happen often when a chick dies under a broody? I just hope it wasn't my fault...
