candled today, none of the barred rocks developed - by the looks of the air cells the PO was not kind to them. Two of the bantam eggs are developing, but have wonky air cells. Keep your fingers crossed and maybe they will do OK.

I'll find out what eggs Soggy sent tomorrow. About 4 are pipping along with an egg from my Splash mutt, my Iowa Blue, and a Guinea. 1 Guinea out right now. I can't wait to see. My last swap eggs have 2 that are developing and 1 blood ring. The rest are clear, but the air sacs look exploded. I still need to figure out who sent them. They are from NY.

Well I have nothing hatched and an empty bator now

I had got a shipment of eggs from someone else in the horrible heat and one of them ended up exploding in my incubator a couple of weeks ago. I got it cleaned up but I think there is still bacteria floating around in there. On top of the treatment of the packages by the USPS I think I was doomed... the air cells in my eggs were a mess.

Will crack open the two remaining eggs today and see if I was right about them being NN.

Those exploding eggs make an awful stink ! And they make a loud pop when they go. And they spread over the nearby eggs. Not a good scenario.
On a happy note, I finally had someone get eggs that weren't mashed by the po! Yay! And I turned off my last incubator . Ugh, not a happy feeling. The minute I get back from vacation, I am plugging it back in.:-D
