Has anyone found that the Jumbo White quail are more prone to fighting than say the Jumbo Wilds? I have a bunch of young Jumbo Whites that keep tearing each other up and didn't have this problem with my Jumbo Wilds. The Jumbo White birds are by their selves (not mixed with the wilds). Their cages are 24"x36" and I have at most 13 birds in a cage.

I haven't noticed that. I have noticed that if you have a bunch of one colour and one or two of a different colour, the odd ones out will get beaten on.

Disposition can be bred for. I cull any overly aggressive birds, and I have pretty calm birds. The calico fees that I got from Southwest gamebirds are lovely, calm birds for the most part, for example.

I just noticed that the ones that got beaten up are males so I think I need to go through and vent sex them all again. I think I missed pulling a few males out and that might be the problem. The non-feather sexable birds are new to me.

Extra males will beat each other bloody.
Yes, I know. I thought I had it right the first time but now think I missed some. I like to have a 10/2 ratio for my first and the roos don't even seem to crow then. I'm going to try again with the Whites in a little while.
