jumping chickens

Hello

I'm recently new to keeping chickens. Infact i've only had my 4 week old chicks for a week. When talking to them through the fence of the coop before I put them to bed (around 9pm) all 3 of them started to bob their heads and then jump up at me. It was hilarious to watch as they kept doing it until I physically placed them in their coop. Why are they doing this?

Just need some reassurance I'm doing everything possible to make my hens life perfect!

First, don't worry. Clean, fed, watered, sheltered about covers it. After that, enjoy their antics.

My baby geese did this to me. And now, at 6 months, they still do it when I call them in from the pond! It's hilarious. Enjoy
