I keep a handful of mine,to replace any losses I had. this was an extremely hard winter, i lost 4 and had a silkie go the other day "out of the blue" and a roo and hen I just butchered, cause it needed to be done...Do most people keep the chicks they hatch or sell them?

If mine hatch I plan on keeping them I think, also my mom would like a couple to add to her flock so we'll see how many I get. I don't have a clue how many the one gal is sitting on...it's KILLING me to not know actually LOL

@Purpletie3 how are the cemani eggs doing? All the ones I set the same day as yours are developing! I'll have to post pictures of the ones I just hatched, one perfect, one with white toenails, and one cull.
I haven't checked. I got my Ewe Crazy shipment and have been busy making room!!!
What designates a cull? I will take the imperfect ones if you are getting rid of them.
I gotta send a pic of the motley crew...Houdini, Hona, spitz, blonde EE and silver spangled peanut!!!! Hysterical!!!
Ducks to lockdown tonight....woot woot!
Sorry I haven't been on here more...the dog ate my computer cord so I am stuck with my smartphone...
This is a cull:

See how she has some yellow on her toes and white under her chin? They also will get a white wing feather. They're okay for laying hens or for yard candy but really shouldn't be bred. If you want them though I do sell them to be used as yard candy or layers.
I would take her as a layer...do they ever outgrow the white wing?
