June 2015 Hatch A Long HAL

EEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!! So my new egg candler FINALLY came in the mail today, and it is awesome!!!!!! I recandled all the eggs in the bators and out of 62 eggs set 9 were not fertile and 5 quit early. Which means I should get 48 chicks!!!!!!

This was an amazing way to end the day. I thought my ignorance killed 26 eggs but it turns out the little boogers are more resilient than I gave them credit. 11 days to go!!!

Hurray! That is wonderful news. Be sure to post pics of the little fluffies when they get here!

Interesting tidbit of information: I live in Walla Walla, WA (southeast WA), I bought olive egger eggs from 6 hrs east of me in Idaho, and sort of accidentally (there might have been wine involved) from new Hampshire. 2/17 from ID made it to lock down, but 4/12 from NH! Amazing.

I'm on day three right now with 23 bantam cochin eggs of my own I'm candeling in day 7 and will let you know how that goes. They will end up hatching on the 4th and 5th of July.

Today 12 eggs go on lockdown. Last shipped ones got 10/29 chicks, hubby doing the work as I've been out of state. He has no clue but hoping to get something out of the eggs I left in the incubator.

Well...I need advice I think ;) Here's a pic of my current situation, upper and lower left are just laying, both on the right side are sitting on eggs and then the two on the floor are on eggs as well. The one closest to me with her back to me has only been sitting since Friday. So, here's the issue-when others come in to lay they have to almost step on her to get up into the box and she gets all fluffy (it's kinda funny LOL) but doesn't peck or seem to get overly upset, even when I have to collect the eggs she doesn't seem to mind me, no puffing up etc. But I'm wondering if I need to move her and how do I go about doing that? Or do we just need another set of boxes? DH is working on getting that done because we need them regardless. I'm concerned when the two on the right of the nesting boxes hatch their babies that fluffy mama on the floor is going to get trampled, or the eggs etc. but maybe there's enough room? What's the best thing to do?
