The one I had that still had yolk made it. So far so good anyway. The yolk absorbed and I cut the cord to detach it from the egg. It was week I believe due to loss of blood. I cut the cord last night and let it stay in the bator overnight in hopes it would make it. This morning it was alive and chirping. I put it in with one taht hatched a few days before this one and it perked right up and was eating a little and I got it to drink a bit. So far so good, I say. I sure hope it does well. I really wanted several of these chicks and only got 1 to hatch.
I'm sorry you lost yours. I nkow how disappointng it is. So out of a total of 64 eggs I got8 chicks and 1 died. Very bad odds. I think it was due to having different hatch dates and opening the bator and changing the humidity, etc for each hatch. I have 1 set of eggs in there now and will kep it that way until they are either decided to be no good or hatch. Which ever comes first.
