June hatch-a-long!

Yesterday I put two Mille Fleur d’Uccle eggs under a broody. I’m so excited to be hatching again! And this time little bantams!

Is there anyone else planning to hatch? I didn’t notice a June hatch-a-long yet so I thought I’d make one.

From reading I’m planning to candle on day 10 (May 31) and day 18 (June 8)

They should be hatching June 11.

I only have one d’Uccle hen so I’ll be marking the dates each of the eggs she laid them one and putting them under the broody.

I was planning to go incubator this year but I can’t find any good priced ones and I do have a broody so why not?

I’ve got 15 eggs under a broody that should hatch around June 6. Right in time for me to finally be getting out of school . This is also my first hatch so it’ll be interesting to see what happens.

I put two dozen in my incubator about a week ago. I candeled them last night and they are looking good! I got a bunch of eggs from my neighbors small chickens with feathers on their feet. Her rooster is a copper maran and I’m not sure about the feather feet hens she just calls them fancy feet.

They’re production Reds. Sadly we don’t have a variety of chicken breeds but hopefully I can expand at some point in time.

Yep! And our rooster is the nicest bird we have. Sadly though our hen got locked out of the nesting boxes (she’s in a tiny coop and freaks out when she gets out and finds she’s not in the big coop so she’s supposed to be locked IN). Therefore, she was off the eggs for probably a good six or so hours. Luckily it’s really hot and humid here right now though. Hopefully the hatch still turns out okay .
