June Hatch A Long

I did my 14 day candle today. So, of the 7 olive eggers that we bred, one is clear (collected the day after breeding so no surprise) and 6 are developing. I think that even the one with the loose aircell is looking good! I’m attaching pics of the drawn air cell for two eggs. I’m thinking that it looks pretty normal for a day 14 egg, though I’m not used to them developing with zero tilt so would appreciate thoughts... I’m thinking of dropping the humidity back to 45% or so. Of the shipped marans eggs, even with my new high intensity flashlight, they are so hard to see! Two were definitely clear, with loose air cells. Two looked good and I definitely saw movement in one of those. That leaves 8 that I didn’t think looked great but I couldn’t see clearly, one probably has a blood ring but I’m afraid to call it! Im attaching a pic of one of my questionable BCM eggs - im guessing that this one is a dead embryo. I’m attaching a pic of a clear BCM egg and my x-ray finger! Even though it’s supposed to be an led light, that thing still gets hot!

Oh sorry about the confusion! How many hatched and how many didn’t? My 14 day candle was not so encouraging for the shipped eggs...
I’m not even sure the final count. I’m still hatching.
Some sellers obviously the shipping route was rough on them because I didn’t hatch many- some marans I think I hatched 3 of a dozen. Wheaten ameracauna I hatched 7 of 10. It’s been all across the board.

I’ve had lots of shipped egg/displaced air cell eggs develop that air cell straight across the top!

I’m not so sure about your “dead” BcM egg. That shadow is still kind of promising to me.... marans can be so hard!!! You left it in for now, right?

Yes, the only ones that I tossed were the obviously clear ones. The blue eggs with the equatorial air cells (like this one) were pics of my own eggs, not shipped. I’m using these non shipped eggs to adjust humidity to air cell size. I think that the air cells developed straight across because my New turner keeps them upright, just turns them to a 45 degree angle then back...

My turner is like that too but for shipped eggs I think that is best because it keeps them more upright so the air cell develops on top and doesn't migrate. Going to hatch in plastic egg cartons with the bottoms cut off that way they are still upright during hatch which may be better since they were shipped. We are on day 4 today.

Argh! Day 21 and anxiously waiting on 22 eggs with no sign of any hatching
Would it make a difference that the eggs were originally put in the incubator about 11pm at night?
Hoping to see some chicks by morning but how many days do I leave them before calling it quits and turning it off?

I would usually go to day 25 at least but check the eggs frequently to make sure any that have started pipping get out of the eggs within at least 72 hours of pipping. Some breeds like ducks and geese take forever to hatch but may need assistance due to being very large in the egg.
