I personally break the shell off around the part that is stuck and it usually dries and comes off within a few hours naturally. Less chance of bleeding that way.

Thanks HolyDuckBatman! Susan’s looking a little worse for wear from roosters that have pulled her head feathers. Here’s a pic of her from her better days, with her former bestie Marilyn. Really hoping that she has more good days ahead in her future with a chick that she canThey are beautiful !!!
Maybe you could get a picture now? My guess is that if he’s getting more active, he may have absorbed the yolk. Even if the yolk is still there, he will be ok lifted up for a moment as long as he doesn’t get his little feet and claws into the yolk to rip the sac open.I just looked at the " yolk " ( or so I thought ) & it does look greenish now ! I think that he may have the cord still, I know he did earlier...is it safe for me to remove him from the cup & check ?
OMG guys, I had him in his shell for nothing ! I took him out to check & he flopped out & the waste just broke off ! He has a tiny bit of cord, I think I'll leave it be. No wonder he was trying to get out, lol. I appreciate all of you so much ! My ducky owes his life to all of you !
He is exhausted, I hope that is normal, but here is my little fluff fluff !!!

Fixing her very minor splay leg, she isn’t even picking at it. I’ll probably leave it a couple more days.
