It's day 21 as of 8:08pm tonight. I am starting to hear chirping coming from the incubator so I think someone is getting ready to attempt to get out. Fingers crossed that they do well. I had to share something else. I know everyone struggles with how to put water into the incubators without opening the lid and shrink wrapping your chicks. This is my solution. It's a 40ml injector tube for the dehydrator I bought and a stiff bit of hose. I can put it right into the wells under the grating to fill the water up if needed through the air vent without opening the lid.

So exciting! I can't wait to check the live feed in the morning!
When I add water to the incubators that don't have a way to add water externally I do something similar with a bendy straw and a condiment bottle. Lol

In your red ranger crossing did you see any dwarfism pop up? You used a female red ranger right?

I just spent a good five minutes staring at the black and white eggs looking for a pip.

I haven't noticed any dwarfism, I was told it doesn't exist in Red Rangers but just because I am told something doesn't mean its true. I have yet to cross 2 descendants of Red Rangers for any of the Red Rangers Recessive traits to come out until it exists in the Heritage breeds I have crossed them with. I only have Red Ranger females as the males were eaten, and I may cross one of their sons with them to test for dwarfism. I am not very familiar with the gene and not sure how it works other than I have been told its some recessive gene in Freedom Rangers.

Unfortunately he or she is camera shy and pipped on the side not facing the camera I took a picture for you it's the egg on the far left in the camera shot. Waiting for others to make their debut too. This chick is pretty noisy so maybe he'll wake the other ones up too.

I have no idea if it does, I’ve just heard it’s an integral part of the Cornish four way hybrid. What are selecting for in this round of chicks?

Number 2 is out and getting the other eggs going. Number 3 is working hard on his egg.

Got a picture of each of the babies that are out and of the eggs that are working on getting out now. A little worried about the last picture it's an egg that was in a single cup since I had 13 eggs and the chicks tipped it over when they were running around. Hopefully that doesn't make it have issues hatching.
