I just put my eggs in lock-down today. I am having trouble keeping my humidity above 50%. I have done a dry hatch throughout, but even then it seems that I am supposed to aim for 55-60%. All of my wells are full. I can add water without opening my incubator but I did just open it to add a soggy sponge. Any other suggestions or should I stop worrying so much? I guess I could turn off my air-conditioning because I think it's at least 90% humidity already here in Louisiana!!! I think my family would rebel if I really tried that however.

I've got pippage!! My first pip this AM when I got home from work was a nice good chunk of the shell out. I could see beak moving around and breathing (although I would have called it "guppy breathing"), but was breathing none the less. I was told it was probably just working hard to get out so I left it alone. Well after I woke up this afternoon, it's dead! So sad, it had such a good pip, but some fluid leaking out from pip, so maybe it drowned?? I guess it happens!

But on the plus side lots of more pips since then and cheeps every once in a while. I have to go back to work tonight so maybe when I get home I'll have some chickies!
