June Hatch-A-Long

Eeee!! Thank you for saying it wouldn't hurt to go into lockdown early!!! Today around 4 we got our first chick trying to crack its way out!! Will be keeping an eye on it because it's trying to pip out in kind of the middle of the egg.. Sry not best picture it's at the bottom of the egg:/
This is a perfect place to pip! Right end. :)

Woo hoo! Woods broody has returned with 15 peepers!

The new crew, they hatched Saturday night. There's one more, but it was busy eating. I need to take pictures of the 4 week olds, they look hilarious right now.

Omg look at their funny little heads. I didn't expect they'd look polish already. So cute.

Here's my babies (they're scared of the washing machine spin cycle so they're bunched up). Does anyone know if the chicks and quail can live together? Or for how long?

This is my and my bantam hen's first time hatching eggs. The first one pipped this morning and had hatched by the time I got home from work. The chick is a bantam cross of some sort. I have 2 mixed bantam hens, a mixed bantam rooster, and a cochin bantam rooster, so the possibilities are endless. A second chick has pipped this afternoon. Here is a picture of my broody and her first bantam chick!

I just put my 16 Lavender Orrpington eggs in lockdown. They candled good at 10 days. Do any of you mist the eggs with water while in lockdown??
