Today I saw a white Chicken - It had a grey comb? It looked healthy enough but I was surprised to see a grey / blue comb on a healthy bird. I thought only sick birds had grey combs but apparently this bird is just like that? Any idea what she was.
She had startling grey eyes to match the comb?

Pritty Bird indeed but very unusual colouring. Any idea what she was?

Oes

A chicken that is fibromelanotic will have black/gray skin, meat and includes black/gray facial skin. There are a number of breeds that carry fibromelanosis, such as silkies, ayam cemani, Norwegian black hens, Korean ogye, Vietnamese Ac and a few others and certainly crosses of these types. Also The term "gypsy face" is used to describe chickens with dark facial skin but their body skin is not overly melanized. or normal. The sumatra is an example of this. There are also hens of some varieties of games and sebrights that have a tendency to have melanized "gypsy faced" facial skin. I would not attempt to guess at any particular breed or cross that you saw.

The house isn;t too far so I may just get up courage and ask him what the thing is! lol
I may even grab a few eggs - if I can get some. I just thought wow that is such a beauty then I thought OMG is it sick?
But of course it was acting normally so I was just surprised as I had never seen a dark comb only when my girls were sick and died.
Thanks for all the info - I may go look the breeds up you mention and see if one matches!

Oes - I WANT ONE!

If you find out the background of that chicken please share the answer.

I may go take the camera out and grab a pic of the chick!

Oes - yes indeed I will try to find out the breed if possible .It was not any of those you mentioned!
