Just a quick medicine question....

Usually 2 weeks is the span any animal is treated. Any long or shorter could result in re-infection or yeast infections. The mixture for baytril only has one expiration date, not 2 or 3. Usually only a few weeks is baytril good. It looses its strength when compounded, therefore making it go bad quicker than your average pill form.

Having being a veterinary technician and also dealig with medicaitons on my own birds I may can help. On the baytril, it should be 0.4ML twice per day. This s the normal does for a normal sized bird (over 2 pounds) it is a very safe anitibiotic. On the worming quesiton, what is the wormer? Generally it is safe to give antibiotics and wormer together but at separate times. Has it been refrigerated (baytril) and how old is it? Use any antibiotic until you finish it.
Baytril comes in many strengths, 100mg/ml, 50mg/ml, 25mg/ml and 22.7mg/ml. Shouldn't we know which Baytril it is before telling someone how much to give?

My bad... I re-read and it's tablets mixed with water, right? Tablets also come in different amounts.

They do come in different amounts but it should ONLY be given in 22.7mg unless your treating a 50lb. bird. Baytril is so strong, that is why we have to compound it BUT all of the info reguarding dosage, mg, strength, length of use, expiration date, etc should have been included on the label for safety purposes and legal purposes. Vet should have record of this medicine that was given that day but my guess is that it has already gone bad. This stuff compounded, doesn't last. However, it doesn't seem that they want to contact their vet, therefore risking information on here.
Tablets are never mixed with water. It is a compounding liquid. If they were mixed with water they would turn right then. You have to understand I do this for a living and went to school for it so it comes naturally now haha

Hopefully this one will come out crowing'! I also found on here a " respiratory tea ". This should help clear up a little, but most likely not completely cure it! Will keep y'all posted!
