Maybe we already have one of these - but I thought it would be cool to create a chart that helps people identify what breed of chicken they have. What do you all think?

It's been done several times...each time, it seems to hit the wall. It WOULD be really nice, especially if it was a searchable database.

The new BYC chicken breed database is a good place to start! As the database grows we hope to implement new tools and features that will allow people to search for what type of breeds they might want (based on egg laying, color, size) and also help people determine what types of breeds they currently have.

If you have specific ideas on how to do this and how you think it should be laid out / organized we'd love to hear your feedback!

I was thinking of a chart or something:

Brown Black
Australorp x
RIR x

This is a very dumb little example but, it is sort of what I had in mind. I thought it could include weather the chicken is broody or not, the types of combs, large breed/ bantam etc.
I just thought that a chart with identifyable features of each breed would help people determine what type of chicken they have. I think it would be helpful with ducks also

Just an idea. If this looks like it would work, I'd love to help.
