Just another FNG building a chicken coop

The coop is done and pullets are living in it. They're almost full grown now.

The coop is currently in San Jose. I have hopes of moving it to Tahoe in a few years. In that case, I think the run would need to be enlarged a bit and have a roof to keep the snow off. Currently it's just a hardware wire mesh roof.

As it turns out, most days we open the pen in the morning and give them free reign of the back yard until just before or around sunset, when we close them in again. Our backyard in San Jose is not large.
