Although it took a half dozen to fill me up they were delicious. Grilled three and fried three. Needless to say I plugged the Bator in to get it to temp and will keep eggs over the next few days to set. Gonna raise some more birds for meat.

Yum! I love quail

and usually just fry them, but how are they grilled? I was thinking about raising my own flock for meat and eggs and could use any tips you might have. Oh and what breed of quail are you raising? Thanks and glad you enjoyed your first taste of quail!

They were better grilled than fried in my opinion. I am raising coturnix quail. Just started this spring. Couldn't be easier, I have two smaller pens I built each with one roo to four hens for breeding. And one big cage with 10 hens in it. I get 18 eggs everyday. Gonna expand it and build another bigger pen to rotate 20-25 meat birds continually.

Butterfly the breasts and pan seat them in just a little bit of olive oil with some thinly sliced peppers, garlic, and shallots. It'll blow your mind. I'll do the legs the same way in a different seasoning as an appetizer. It's awesome.
