Just bought some Chantecler chickens - does anyone else have them?

eWell, my hubby and I just ordered four Chantecler hens and a rooster or two. We ordered buff and partridge. I am SOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!! They should arrive Aug. 7th. YIPEE!! Does anyone own some of them and if so can I get an idea of what they tend to be like? I have been told they are aggressive, then some say nice, I would like to know someone's first hand experience with them. Are they good egg layers? The place I ordered them from, well the girl I was talking to seemed to not know too much about them. So any help and advice would be appreciated. THANKS!!!

Ive honestly never heard of them, can you post some pics when you get them and how they develop? Would be fun to see.

I've got a young pair of them. I absolutely love them. They are very sweet and friendly and are SUPER foragers. But mine came from a private breeder, so I'm not sure how much different hatchery stock may/may not be. Best of luck to you!

I will be glad to take pics when I get them. This is a rare breed people are trying to keep from going extinct. I love rare breeds. This is a dual purpose bird and for now that's all I really know. Keep you posted.

This chick is only about 2 months old in this pic. It was a VERY hot day, so she's trying to stay cool with her wings open. They're so active that it's very hard to get a good pic of them!
