Sometimes I begin to wonder if I'm just nutty for wanting to save creatures whenever I possibly can, so it's really reassuring to hear otherwise! ^_^

I just posted the pictures of her in my initial post so you guys can have a better idea of what she looks like.

Maybe you should consult with a vet and see if he has any suggestions. Maybe there is some way they could open the area where her nostrils should be? Just a thought. She's a lucky little ducky to have you for a Mom.

was going to post the same thing Wanda did; she beat me to it while I was eating my apple! I hope you can find duckie some help, if not, at least s/he will know what it means for someone to care.

It is great that you took her home and will provide comforting and loving care. Quite possibly she will live a long and loved life that she would not have had otherwise.

But I don't think you should feel pressured to spend a pile of money trying to get her "fixed." She is defective. Many defective animals can live long and prosper, with attention and consideration of the problem. That does not mean you should feel obligated to spend the price of a used car on vet bills! If you have the money to do this and wish to, that's fine, of course. I'm just saying, I don't think you should feel any such obligation. There is nothing wrong with limiting yourself to common sense, supportive care, and love and affection.

Its a great thing you took her and I pray she has a long great life with you..But if isnt as long as it should she at least the time she has she will be truly loved! That is what happened to me I took home a tiny, tiny baby bunny from a pet stre that told be she was 8 weeks I knew the baby was maybe 4 weeks and didnt have nmuch of a chance she looked weak and I didnt want to leave her in a nasty cage to die..I took her home tryed to feed her she wouldnt eat the vet said she was to far gone...But I held her and she sit on my lap and watched everything I did I was holding her the next morning when she died...She was more loved in 1 day than some animals get in a life time...For only 1 day I cryed until I had no tears left...I made sure I took pics of her that night..good thing!!!

Here is my sweet little baby...

Sparrow,
Do you think it would be possible to give her some nostriles? I mean through some type of "surgery", and I am not thinking vet but something you might be able to do at home? I sure hope she will be Ok, and commend you for taking her under your nice humanwing. She will know she is safe in your care.
