Firstly, keep your pants on. I know to check eggs at 7-10 days, 14 days and at 18 days before lockdown. I wanted to see what 1 egg looked like a 4 days. I have a bright light I modified into a fine candler and we candled just one egg, sterile conditions and returned it to the incubator without fail. Now, what I saw was the top or large end of the egg was dark about a 1/4 to 1/3 of the way down. The rest of the egg was clear. Does that sound like a 4 day egg?

Now after looking at some photos, I think the eggs we have are so dark brown that I'm not getting enough light through the shell. Although, the dark area at the top moved like the air sac. If the air sac is already 1/4 of the egg should I raise the humidity from 45% to 50%?
