Just Curious about chicks and some questions

We got two little chicks, I am feeding them a little extra because my mom believes that they will starve to death if they don't get extra feed, right now they are on the lowest on the pecking order of my other chickens. So my question is my mom's concern a reality or just imagination? Will they get enough feed just by being lower on the pecking order? Yes, i realized those are two questions not one but they are kinda related.

No to the multiple feed stations and they are I believe almost 11 or 12 weeks old(we got them at 10 weeks old)they are growing so big though!

no but i go in there and hand feed for a few mins a day

Then they almost certainly need more food. Each bird should get at least 1/4 a pound of feed (4oz), and some need more than that

It is best to have multiple feeders and keep them full at all times.

Other than Cornish X meat birds, chickens will not overeat.

Yes, they can starve to death then. Making a feed container is cheap and easy. I used 2 5 gallon buckets and some pvc elbows. I keep those full (and also have some other feed stations because I have 24 chickens). Feed and water is available 24/7

Multiple feeders (can be simple as a ramekin, cat bowl, etc) will ensure everyone gets enough to eat. And food should be freely available during their waking hours.
