Just curious if you see any Roos?

Sorry, I haven’t quite figured out how to use the quote feature yet, but to the person who asked where we got them, that was Murdoch’s (I’m in MT, not sure how extensive that chain is but I gather it’s probably similar to TSC.)

And thanks to the other commenter who explained the silver Duckwing situation! I can’t wait to see how he turns out! Regardless of what whether Phoenix or Old English Bantam or Phoenix Bantam he looks like he will be a very handsome dude :D

I just click "reply" at the bottom of the post I want to quote, and it quotes the whole post in the reply box. If I only want to respond to part of it, I delete the parts I don't want.

There are other ways to quote things, but that's the one I happened to figure out first, so it's the one I use most often.

As others have said, Olive and Cleo are Cinnamon Queens and Pepper is a cockerel. Does Pepper have slate or pink legs? If slate I would lean towards Silver Phoenix. How significantly smaller is he? Phoenix are on the lighter side compared to some of your other breeds already
Welcome back Rhodebar!! :yesss: Missed you!

I took some portraits of our chicks at around 5 weeks old (about a week ago now) before they moved to the garage. We are pretty sure Pepper is a rooster at this point, but curious if you see any other likely suspects? I haven’t been able to pick any out. I know the ISA browns are sex linked but I’m including them anyway cause they’re cute :)

I will have to check his legs out tomorrow! I honestly can’t remember. As for size.... well, he’s built differently than the others, for sure. He’s just as tall as some of them but that’s partly his more upright posture and comparatively long tail feathers. He’s skinny though, and light. The barred rocks and the bigger australorps dwarf him, so does Cleo. I think the only one smaller is Gloria who seems to be the runt of the bunch.

You will probably have to wait until he grows up a bit more before you know for sure if he is a bantam or a standard sized chicken.

And by the time he grows up, you will know for sure if he is a phoenix (long tail that trails behind him on the ground) or not (normal length tail.)

Details about terminology:
Silver Duckwing is a color.
Bantam is a size (small chicken).
Phoenix is a breed where roosters grow a long tail. They come in bantam size and standard size.

So he could perhaps be Silver Duckwing Phoenix Bantam.
But I think Silver Duckwing Old English Game Bantam is more likely, because they are more common.

Some other bantam-sized breeds also come in Silver Duckwing color, and some other standard sized breeds do too.
