Just finished chicken coop!

Do you think I need more?
I think you need more coop, period.
It's gonna be about impossible to adequately ventilate that coop.
Unless you put it into a large run with solid roof.

then how will they stay warm during winter?

If I do more, or even just take the window piece out all together and replace with chicken wire, then how will they stay warm during winter?

Yes. You need much more ventilation. Square feet, not square inches.

Chickens don't need to be kept warm because they're wearing built-in down parkas. If they are kept dry they tolerate temperatures down at least to 0F.

But ventilation is the key to keeping them dry. They create a lot of moisture from their breath and their poop and it has to be vented out or it will freeze onto their combs and cause frostbite.

I so agree! I wish I had known about this group BEFORE getting into all this!
My husband is not gonna let me change coops at this point...nor add to it anymore.
So I gotta make it work.

In a warm climate you could replace the siding on the wall that faces the run with wire.

You might even convert the entire coop and mini-run portion into a coop.
