We had a friend come over with his son to show us how to process the meat birds we have. We only did three since they really aren't big enough yet but these three were crowing and I'm not allowed to have roosters on my property. I don't know why they are so scrawny. I think that the food I was giving at first just didn't cut it for meat birds. They will make good chicken soup though I'm sure. It was much easier than I thought it would be and I won't have any trouble doing it myself next time. My boys found it fascinating. My younger one said "It's science!",

. I think my boys were born to live on a farm... can't wait until we can get one.

WOW! I have been thinking about meat birds, but I just can't get past the killing part.

good to hear it was a fairly positive experience. I'm gearing up for some 1st time butchering tomorrow. I'm really nervous...

Good luck with yours tomorrow. Hope it goes as well as ours did!
