My guineas have never cared for snacks. Just bugs and whatnot they find on their own. Well, recently they have taken a liking to the birdseed that falls from our feeders. There are seven seed feeders, a corn feeder, and four suet feeders. So lots of seeds fall from messy eaters.
While filling the feeders a week ago the guineas got way closer then they normally do. Excited, I decided to try feeding them from my hand. They are not as excited about that as me. Lol

But I did get my daughters favorite guinea, tiny, to take a single piece of corn from my hand
Here is the skeptical group.

Tiny coming closer ever so cautiously.

After spending 15mins or so with them I went over to the patio to treat a sick fish. I was sitting on the ground and heard something off to the side.... look who came over looking for more handouts

She hit my nail with her beak and didn’t pinch my skin. The chickens hurt. They will grab your skin and shake their head. Haha. Id imagine the guineas would pinch skin too if they got worked up enough to eat from my palm. Maybe with some more work I’ll find out

My guineas will be cuddling me one minute, then hissing at me the next, I even got pecked once! They also haven't figured out that you can walk through open doors. Instead, they try to walk through chicken wire. They also consistently choose to roost close the chicken that pecks them. My guineas are stupid, but sooo adorable. Does anyone else have stupid guinea fowl?

Naaa, mine are brilliant... Seriously, yes they are so dumb. But I have one, Welch, that’s smarter than usual. I like to say that she’s as smart as a chicken...

I’ve only seen them at shows and they sound like chainsaws...holy moly..is that a common noise they make?? In the barn it echoed a lot and was very loud

Yeah, they are REALLY loud. Right now, I am hearing girl noises from mine, so hopefully I get some yummy eggs in the spring!
