Just found cockroaches the size of hamsters in my coop. HELLLPPP!!!!!

Leave chickens out of coop for the day. Spray Home Defense along the floor edges and a few inches above. Spray around window sills and doors. I am sure they made Home Defence (Ortho) for Floridians, LOL. My shed stays roach free for a year. The other coop does not have a problem with the big girls in there. I also spray my tool cabinet, and the thresholds on my Lanai, and around the perimeter. No bugs there either. All bugs have to do is walk across it. Lasts a year, and is pet-okay when dried.

Ortho does nothing in some spots now, as had used in apt moved to full of roaches, a while back, and roaches ate it like candy and none died (kept some in jar too watch how die, and they lived for week before i dumped them all alive in dumpster. my pigeons and gfs cat got ill though after eating some roaches though, as well as we all and my dog kept getting ill from the roaches getting in water etc (roaches were bad and we used one and half gallon containers as they kept eating it and thought they were supposed to.

Yes i read directions and false claim, and ment that the roaches came out of everywere to eat it and everything else got sick from where roaches then went after moisture. DE worked better than home defense and didn't give anything sickness even, even though DE didn't completely stop prob, but roaches avoided areas was tossed.
I'm just saying these poisons only work so well for so long on target insects, but have immediate and lasting effects on other things. hear sellers say everything they sell works great though. lol. combat clear gel stuff gf uses seems to keep ciity roaches down for while, but you cannot stock up on any poisons as trick to them working is mixing toxins slightly at least so those that survived last blast and their now immune offspring can maybe be killed mostly off by new batches. stocking of poisions just immunizes and breeds more stronger to poisions (probly why recommended home defense didn't work when i bought off pro extermination crew). It actually attracting the roaches was really freaky though, out of movie "joe's apartment". Ill never endanger my birds cats or dogs again with it though, as. that or hordes of roaches covering every spot put down line, made my eyes nose throat burn and allergies go nuts as and after appied.

If I use Demon WP in our coop should I not use the eggs for awhile, because the chickens ate so many roaches after I sprayed that they blowed up like water baloons. It has been 3 days since I sprayed is that enough time to wait, we just hate to keep throwing that many eggs out.

whoa! big roach

Demon WP is a pesticide that is mixed with water for just about any pest. We use it in the house every 3 or 4 months & have not had any problems since I started using it. I put the chickens out in their big pen so they were not around it well it was wet, but the roaches just ran over in the pen were they were & they really cleaned up on everyone that made it into were they were. We have never used it in their coop before but the cockroaches were getting so bad we had to do something else besides 7 dust. I seen were some others had used it just not sure how long to wait before we use the eggs or if we even need to wait after we sprayed it.

You mean they stuffed their crops or overall swelling?...I hope they're OK.

I'd be hesitant to eat the eggs if they've been exposed to an insecticide.....you'd have to research the chemical to guess what the withdrawal time might be-what does it say about exposing food to it..

Sorry I did not mean they really swelled up I was just joking I meant that they eat every one that ran out of the coop. It sounds like it is the same thing as Home Defense only a different name, when dry it is Ok I use it in my house every 3 or 4 months. But the roaches were running through it when it was wet & the chickens were eating them. It has been 4 full days now since I sprayed the coop & the chickens are fine. I just read were some others were spraying the same thing that I used & was just wondering how long they waited or if they even waited before they used the eggs. This is the first time I have ever used pesticices in my coop I moved down to TX from IN I never had the problem of having this many cockroaches in my coop. I now only have 8 hens & 1 rooster were back home I had around 150 hens & 3 or 4 roosters at a time but they were free range on about 10 achers. Now I have chickens in a 20' x 20' pen so now we are having different things come up that we never had to deal with before.
