Well, I found where she roosts...about 20 feet up in a tree, on some limbs that form bows of the tree...It could even be the hen has a nest up there and no eggs will be recovered in such a case...she has sufficient lift to fly onto a low branch (about 8-10 off the ground, then one more lift about 8 feet to another branch then walk over a few limbs to some bows where she clucks her approval and beds down for the night...
Now with all the delight of safety it could be said I will have a difficult time getting her into a coop and even more problems getting her to stay in a coop unless I cut wings which I won't.
I do have one gift in my favor...she (we call her ivy-don't ask why...I don't know) Ivy likes Fancy as there ever waking time is spent in each others company. Fancy does not nest in trees and stays low to the ground...she lets us pet her and over time may be able to pick her up...therefor could transport into a coop...if Ivy finds her (Fancy) in a coop she may join her...giving me a chance to lock her in to train her to a coop. Otherwise I don't know how it can go...
Freedom will always dominate more so with animals that perhaps have know little else... Obviously she once was a domestic so from a coop environment. This could be one for you Ridgerunner as your evaluation of Fancies behavior was spot on the money...Larry
