Just found my missing broody in a birdsnest IN A TREE- update page 6

We tried to move Slow Mama night before last and it did not go well

We had to use the bucket of the skidsteer to reach her, she nearly clawed out my husbands eyes (

) even though it was nearly 11:00 and pitch dark outside. We put her in the coop in a big dog kennel with the eggs and birdsnest nestled in shavings. 4 hours later she still hadn't taken her nest back

She'd kicked the eggs (5) all over the kennel and shredded the nest. So I let her out and took all 5 eggs to the incubator. I hope they make it after all they've been through.

Funny, as bad as she wanted to be broody, the next morning she was 100% back to normal

She's definently a hen of a different kind!

OM GOODNESS!! That was too TOO funny WoW! VERY nice description, I laughed till I hurt! I think you need to submit it to one of the poultry magazines! "Backyard Poultry" or the 'Popular Farming' magazine (I think it's rather new) called simply "Chickens" (heh, I guess simple is good!)

I mean, we all can (and do I'm sure) appreciate it here, but I've had one or two things printed in magazines, and it sure is fun to do, and some of them pay a few dollars for such things!

Anyway, I'm glad your girl is ok txchickie, and I hope the eggs hatch, though I'd keep her peeps away from the trees just in case they think they're Robins! Hehe, course you can name them all things like, Robin, Sparrow, Tweetie, Wren, and on and on after a start like THAT!

Oh boy, you all just make me sooooooo anxious for my 2-week olds to grow up!!

WriterofWords: "I quit, I'm giving up on birds and moving to a bird free city where I don't have to worry about stupid tree hens, horny roosters, and teenage sons." Your story was soooo funny I'm sure not at the time! BUT why don't you instead of giving up on birds, MOVE to a tree-free city rather than bird-free city!

Hope you have some success with the hatch after all your trouble!
