Just gave my first chickens away....

Nothing important. Just me being a baby.

I started with 6 chickens last Easter. (3 BR, 1 RIR and 2 Golden Comets)
I ordered 5 surprises in July. (SS, Golden Campine, Sulton, Andalusian, EE)
I got 7 more in August. I was suppose to get Orloffs in this group. I did not. I got 3 SS, 2 RIR, 1 Leghorn, and 1 Cuckoo Maran.
My Orloffs should be here tomorrow.

I can't have this many chickens in my neighborhood!!!

I found a wonderful home (6.5 acres with a great mom and lots more chicken friends) for my 5 of my 7 - 3 week olds (2 RIR and 3 SS).

Now I miss them. I am so sad. That was so hard to do!

I'm such a baby.

I need a farm so I don't have to give them away!!!!

Ahhhhh... then the chicken hoarding could begin!

I feel your pain. I'm trying to re-home two of the roosters that I hatched this summer and it's making me SO sad. No fair.

I'm afraid even if you had a 50 acre farm, you would have to give some away sooner or later. I had well over 300... cutting back to a more manageable level... it sucks and hurts, cry like a baby every time even though I have found good homes for them. But in the long run it is for the best. Just consider it as you converting over a new member.....
