My husband and I recently moved to a house with a significantly larger yard and finally have room to keep chickens. My cousin lives a few blocks away and has had a good sized flock for several years; he has been advising me as I'm getting things set up. I hope to purchase my chicks this month. So excited!

I am a librarian and work at a university library, my husband works in security at a local hospital.

Hello and welcome .... so glad you joined BYC

I live in SW Ohio and have had Australorps in the past. They did very well for me. They were free range most of the time and loved to hang out in the shade of the flower beds. I got eggs from them everyday. I dont have experience with the other breeds tho.

Good luck to you

! Great to have you aboard! I think all of those breeds are great for the weather conditions you described. Good luck to you!
