Just got a swamp cooler for the coop !!

It has been in the hundreds lately here where i live. Today toped out at 105. my poor chickens have been so miserable.

So my husband and i decided to get a swamp cooler for the coop.
we lucked out and got one for $25.00. Nice! My chickens are sooo happy now!

It works awsome! i would totally recomend one of these.

WHAT IS A SWAMP COOLER?

Evaporative cooler. Does not do much in extremely high humidity.

In CA we enjoy relatively low RH in most areas.

(If my sister is watching this is a shameless attempt to get her to come home from NY)

A swamp cooler is like and AC unit. you add water to it and a fan blows cool air. We have it on a drip system so the water is continuously flowing. i hope i explained that well LOL. this is our first swamp cooler

Has been over 103+ here in Northern Calif and I see a swamp cooler in our future too! Hoping it help with keeping egg laying steady. Cool (no pun intended) that you found one for $25.00 is it new or used?
