Just got mature hens

Just got 1 mature orpington and 2 marans (all mixes within their breeds) and am ready to learn and grow my chicken operation in the future. Located in northern Utah and hope to stay located in the Rockies (I'm a grad student). Nice to be here!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to our flock. Buff Orpingtons are a wonderful breed. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds), and they are hardy, calm and gentle (my children and granddaughter made lap pets of them), and excellent layers of large brown eggs. I love the chocolate eggs of the Marans. In my personal opinion, they are the prettiest eggs in the chicken world. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
