Just got my first 6 chicks 5 days ago. Thankful for this community!

Hi, I am sai (not my real name) from TN. I can already tell I am going to be one of them crazy chikn ladies . As the title says, I am a complete newbie at chicken raising. Me and my family got us a little piece of land and are trying our hands at a small scale family farm/homestead. Our sphynx cat Nyxie is none too thrilled because she wants to share the heating lamp but I won't let her in there with the chicks.
