Just got my first pair of Calls

I only let them out when I'm home . . . and I'm home a lot.

when I put the other tub in the yard, they always stay pretty close to it. And they easily go back inside the BirdHouse with the chickens at night. Clark chatters all the time. Very cute! I try to handle him and Lewis but they don't like it. Do your guys like to be handled?

I did pick up some floating Koi fish food to sprinkle in their water and they love that. Haven't tried the minnows tho.

I have some 'spring mix' lettuce for our tortoise so Lewis and Clark get some of that too.

As far as picking them up, that wasn't so bad. Didn't have to chase them all over the place or anything. Just got them where I could get to them, and scooped'em up. But when it comes to holding them, they squirm a bit. I'm sure they'll get used to it. They are too cute not to pick up and hug every once in a while

They are a lot hardier than most first timers think. I let mine free range when I first got them, but as I got more into breeding I just had too much money tied up in them to take that risk. The only problem I had was that they tend to get their legs injured more often since they are so short. I would always find one limping for one reason or another, but they would heal in a day or so. However, as stated before they are addicting. I started out with a pair of whites and now I have twelve different colors I am breeding and over 40 animals in all.

I knew it! You're getting sucked in by the "ducky snuggle". They are so soft that I can't resist picking mine up all the time. They just go with it now.
I think their thought process is, "resistance is futile".
