just got my ladies!

first time chicken owner and i got my girls today. 1 black australorp, 1 buff orpington, 1 golden sex link, and 1 rhode island red. they're all pullets from the feedstore, but i noticed a few bumps on the top of the RIR's nose. looks like a miniature comb. better not be a rooster!!

i didn't pick them out, my sister did when i was at school. they're so cute to watch.

the buff and australorp are lazy and just cuddle in our hands while my sex link (matilda) is one bossy energetic thing. and the RIR doesn't like being touched. it's a shame because the two cuddlers belong to my sis and girlfriend and the two others are mine.

but finally they all got together to sleep under the heat lamp. so cute

quick question:

how often should i clean the tank and change shavings? I just did it today so they had those shavings for 3 days (although i added light layers each day).
