Just got a shipment of day olds came in about two hours ago. All are doing well except for the buff orpinton chick.
She has eaten and drank water just fine however does not seem to be walking properly. She also seems dizzy and disoriented. I thought she had splay leg but she can stand on her legs properly. When she goes to walk she falls backward and her head rolls around and has a hard time getting back up. Sometimes when she is sitting she does the falling over backward head rolling thing. She isn't walking upright and just kinda hops all weird.
Water has ACV in it, feed is chick starter, brooder is at 95 and am using pine shavings in brooder.
Could this just be disorientation from shipping? Or some sort of head injury? I don't know if I should be doing more to help the chick. Does not appear to be ill otherwise...no discharge from eyes..making normal chick noises
ETC: Was just doing a bit more research and I think it maybe wry neck. It does that stargazing thing and the rolling of the head and the falling over. What do I do?
