I went to the feed store, and saw they had SS chicks there, and I have been looking for them for a while.
I told the guy I wanted three, and he grabbed 4 told me one of them had a pasty butt, but it should be ok
and added another one just in case. What did he mean by that, and do I need to do anything to this chick
in particular? Wanna see pics of the new chicks? Everyone loves pictures.

Should I just wash it with warm soapy water? Or should I try scraping it off?

I would soak that little butt for a couple minutes in warm water and see if you can get it to come off. Also if you trust yourself and have a steady hand you can always just clip it off.

Soak with h2o to soften, then gently remove the clump with a soft rag. And send pics of the other end of your chicks - we want to see!

I'm gonna try the soaking deal here in a minute. I will take pics when I get this one cleaned up.

Got it clean the one with the pink butt in the second pic. As soon as I got done cleaning it she went crazy.
She must feel a lot better now, because she ran all over the place, and jumped on the feeder, and just went
nuts. She is calm now, and sleeping with her butt towards the light.
