I have s bantam chick that hatched today. Yesterday evening we could hear her very loudly chirping in the shell. This morning another egg hatched and there was some fluff sticking out of her egg. We could see her pushing and trying, but no progress. My hubby assisted her a little, her yolk is all the way absorbed and there was no blood - we think the shell was too thick. Now she is completely out, but her head is still bent down like it was in the egg. She hatched about 30 minutes ago. Is she just too tired to lift her head? She is moving, just not her head. She has actually moved from one side of the incubator to the other. We moved the other chick out when we assisted her, so she is not in danger of getting trampled.
I am about to go for the day, so I will not be home but I can pick up something if I need to.
Her in the egg before the assist.
She had that big hole and all the fluff poking out was completely dry.
It is hard to take a picture of her inside the incubator, but I am attaching one.
