I bought 10 eggs from someone - half of them were pekins half were blue silkie. Firstly most of the silkies never even started developing- this one did now he’s out but he does not look like a blue silkie chick?
Anyone know what it is?
Just want confirmation it’s not a silkie before contacting the person who I bought the eggs from…
Sorry pics are not great he’s still in the incubator

All I can tell is that the bird is crested, since I can't see his comb, feet, toes or skin color. If the parents were both blue, then only about half the chicks are going to be blue. He looks black, which about a quarter of the chicks would be

Does it have feathered feet?

Not sure if this helps. Yes both parents were blue.
If it’s a black silkie chick why would he have these lighter colours?
Sorry I don’t know much about how colouring works

That's not a silkie. But black birds usually hatch black and yellow
Thanks. I had a feeling it wasn’t but what makes you sure?
He does have 5 toes but no feet feathers and feet are a lighter colour.
Any idea what it is?
I’m really disappointed, she previously sold me a silkie chick which also turned out to not be a silkie and we don’t know what that is either but it seemed like a genuine mistake…
