These are NOT from that pen. These are some Choc/Mauve Orp Pullets I have growing out. They are about the same size and the ones in the pen. The Wyandottes are some smaller. The roo in this pen is the same size as the other other one in the pen the eggs are coming from. There is a pullet from Kraftyladies and the Cockerel both are Orps and Choc. I have a black Orp and 2-3 Wyandotte pullets (2 are choc and 1 black I think)

There is a wyandotte in this pic somewhere. My Choc Wyandottes came from Jerry Foley. They were not bantam but small for LF.

It's not looking good, she was trying to escape from the cage this morning when I left.

This is my 2nd time trying to move her, so either she try's hatching or she has to stop being broody lol. I cant just leave her in the nest box because she switches every day.

I use a nest box I can close the front to lock her in. Do it at night with dummy eggs or golf balls or hard boiled eggs. These will not break and make a mess should she get wild. Only let her out to eat and drink late the next day and lock her in the nest box again. She should settle in a couple of days.

I may have to try that, I moved her into a pet carrier last night with her golf balls. the pet carrier is open into a rabbit cage. Last night she stayed put on them but this morning she was pacing the side of the cage. I only get off work in another 30 min to see if she went and sat on the golf balls or not but I kind of doubt it.

I wonder, if having a piece of smaller mesh chicken wire stapled to one side of the box with some way for me to latch it on the other side, would work.

Darkness is a must to settle a broody that is moved. Keep her in the dark until she settles down.

I have had a couple of hens that went broody and when I brought them in to have them sit on eggs they stopped. I put them in a plastic tote with food and water and a basket just big enough to fit in the tote and leave room for the food and water. I put a screen over the top then a towel to darken the inside of the tote and leave a corner uncovered for air. I put the tote in my carport room or porch and leve them alone. They have always settled down on eggs by the next morning.
