That is one thing that I will not do. I'm for hunting...I love deer, squirrel, etc. But I can't do it myself. My uncles have offered to take me hunting before but I have a really really bad phobia of loud noises...to the point where I will go into panic mode. Childhood experience I think. I can't even take a balloon popping.

I'm with you there. I would love to learn to shoot properly, and I'm a big proponent of hunting, but I can't do it, myself. I grew up with hunters, My best friends are hunters. I can gut and clean with the best of them, but I can't kill or field-dress anything. I honestly wish I could, but I know my limitations. If I want to be able to eat any of it, I have to serve in a solely "support role!"

When we were first married , MIL came to visit and walked around the kitchen opening all drawers and cabinets. Really pissed the Princess off, but that was my MIL. She was really a good lady - just had her 'ways'.

My SIL is the same way, except that if she finds something not to her liking, she "fixes it!" My niece (her DD) is 28 and living in her own house 100 miles away, and still has to deal with a Helicopter Mom. I don't know how she keeps from strangling her mother!
Still. SIL is a great lady in every other department, so we put up with her idiosyncrasies. I'm just glad she's someone else's mother and NOT MINE!

I will personally offer my services to train anyone who has never shot a Precision High Powered Firearm. Even those who were adamantly against firearms have had a great time learning to shoot them safely and responsibly!

(Disclaimer, an Air Pellet Gun is a real gun but I get what you mean )

I've been meaning to try to go to the Women On Target thing -- it sounds educational and fun.
