Hey there everyone! I've been lurking on this forum for a while but decided to join up today!

We have are located in British Columbia. Got our first chickens almost a year ago - I am first timer, however my spouse grew up on a farm and has been around chickens all his life.

We got our first batch of chicks - leghorns end of June 2018, and our second batch of chicks were ISA Browns exactly 1 month later All sexed to be female. Our girls started laying in the fall and have been great producers.

We also have acquired 3 Ameraucana cross hens and 1 rooster who is a Rhode Island Red/Wynadotte cross.

We have just hatched out our first bunch of our own chicks from an incubator and I started creeping this forum because I'm trying to learn about chicken genetics and it's so facinating!!

I love my chickens. They're super friendly, easy to care for, lots of fun for the kids as well.

We also have a dog, 2 cats, 1 leopard gecko and a budgie.

I run my own bookkeeping income tax preparation business from home in addition to our little mini farm. I also knit and crochet in my spare time and my partner and I have a rock band as well.

I am looking forward to learning more on this crazy journey :)

I forgot to mention - we also have 10 muscovy ducks as well to add to the craziness

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I'd love to see a picture of your rooster. I bet a RIR/Wyandotte cross is absolutely stunning.

Here is one pic of him. Will have to get some better shots. His name is RooRoo and he's a nice boy.. such a good temperment and our hens really love him.
