as for my only little bantam chicken she seems she enjoys being away from the others. However, she is out with them when they free range and she stays in the aisle that I have mounted a milk crate to the stall the big girls are in. I put up a big stick on an angle in the stall, so the big girls can perch right next to her but cant pick on her. I think she likes that alot. She prefers to be with my mini clyde. She just loves him. They have an unbelievable bond. When they are all out free ranging (with the horses and my mini) my mini walks by the them all and she literally jumps on his back even if nobody is picking on her ( which they normally dont free ranging)and its almost as if he says lets go take a walk. And he walks around the pasture very slow with her as if it were his little baby and he drops her back off where he picked her up. Its so cute. Even though our barn is heated and has heated floors, when I come in the morning to feed they are usually laying down together in his stall. She prefers his company over anything. Its absolutely beautiful. And when my truck pulls up in the morning shes always waiting for me at the door. I sit down and she jumps in my lap. I rub her neck and she tucks up real tight on my lap and falls asleep. Shes like a child to me. Im so glad. I feel like I rescued all of them. Im proud to be a chicken mama!
